Pulp Tissue Regeneration in Young Permanent Tooth With Pulp Necrosis

Regenerative Endodontics (Pulp Regeneration/Revascularization)

Tooth #8 was extruded out from the socket during the accident. The incisal edge was also fractured. The

tooth was restored with composite resin immediately after the accident by her pediatric dentist. Later the tooth#8 was found necrotic with a small buccal sinus tract stroma.

Diagnosis: #8 Extrusive luxation and uncomplicated crown fracture with pulp necrosis and chronic apical abscess

Treatment: Regenerative endodontic procedure was completed on the tooth #8. The preoperative abscess resolved completely. The tooth was restored with MTA and composite resin.

After 7 months, the PA lesion resolved with complete bone healing and with a positive response to cold test (endo ice). Orthodontic treatment was initiated to correct the occlusion and spacing with her orthodontist. Tooth #8 remained vital and continued to develop with the elongation of the root and the closure of the apical foramen/root end.
